Lovelock Inn-Magalia
About This Spot
Perched comfortably on the ridge above Magalia, Lovelock Inn-Magalia unfolds like a familiar mountain retreat where the air slows down just enough to invite lingering conversations. The moment you step inside, there’s an ease to the place—a cozy, approachable vibe shaped by its rustic, slightly worn-in mountain decor that speaks of stories shared over plates and pints. It’s the kind of spot where locals and visitors alike come to unwind, sink into good company, and appreciate a pace unhurried by the bustle of everyday life.
The atmosphere carries a quiet energy, vibrant yet relaxed, with a faint soundtrack of weekend tunes occasionally threading through the background, giving just the right touch of liveliness without overwhelming the natural calm of the setting. Outside, the view of the wooded hills creates a backdrop that feels both vast and intimate, wrapping the Inn in a sense of place that’s distinctly northern California mountain.
The menu mirrors this inviting spirit, offering familiar comfort food with heart and care. Whether you’re grabbing a plate of crispy wings tossed in something smoky and spicy, sharing a basket filled with a casual mix of hand-breaded favorites, or settling in with a burger that pairs effortlessly with the surrounding scenery, each dish feels like part of the communal experience rather than a mere meal. Salads and sandwiches bring a thoughtful balance to the hearty crowd-pleasers, reflecting the Inn’s unpretentious approach to flavor and satisfaction.
What really endears Lovelock Inn to its patrons is the genuine warmth that feels woven into its service and the easy camaraderie found among those who gather here. It’s a local crossroads where rugged mountain days meet the simple joy of good food, good drinks, and the knowing smile of a shared moment. For anyone seeking a place that’s as much about connection as it is about cuisine, this unassuming hideaway offers a heartfelt welcome tucked into the beauty of its mountain home.

Listen, I made the mistake of wearing pants to this restaurant that didn't have an elastic band. Don't be like me. Be more prepared. The food here is FANTASTIC. Tucked up in the beautiful mountains right above Magalia sits this gem, The Lovelock Inn. If you're looking for good food or drinks with the beautiful mountain scenery, this is your spot.

This is a new place on the ridge above Magalia and below Stirling City. They serve bar food. On the weekends sometimes they offer live music. Good local hangout. Kind of shabby mountain decor.

Newly opened, what a pleasant surprise for Magalia. Don't expect lodging, but good burgers and frys. There are lots of choices for burgers, sandwiches and salads. There are 2 doors to enter, the door with the ramp takes you to the restaurant. Either door will get you where you want to go.We walked through the bar to get to the restaurant. The booths are comfortable and cute. It's the perfect spot to eat whether you starting or ending you day of fun in the mountains . You can take a menu to your table or read the menu behind the counter. After deciding order at the counter. They also have a kids menu

I cannot thank the folks at Lovelock Inn for their hospitality and kindness during the 2025 Wildflower Century. You opened your business early for us riders, gave us coffee, blankets, and let us warm up by the fire. Without you, we would not have been able to complete the ride. Thank you! Can't wait to return on a warmer and dryer day to have lunch.
